Happy sheep grazing at Yule Farm.

Yule Farm is the name given to this beautiful farm just off the Palmer Fishhook Road north of Palmer in 1989 when Karen and Vaughn Gardner were able to call it home.

The farm was purchased from Bill and Bergie Hecker who farmed the land and raised their three children here for over 40 years. The original tract was owned by the Earl Barry Family.

The Hecker Family ran a dairy farm. The present workshop building “Across the Way” was formerly the farm’s creamery. The farm has been home to sheep, calves, horses, llamas, alpacas, chickens, dogs and of course a barn cat since its dairy farm days.

Karen has raised pure merino sheep for the past 20 years to support her fiber arts passion which focuses on soft, warm bed blankets; cozy sweaters and scarves; and felted wool products.
