Wendy Strohmeyer

Alaska based fiber artist Wendy Strohmeyer has been honing her skills in the fiber world since the early 1980’s. However, it was when she had the privilege to take a tapestry workshop from Archie Brennan and Susan Martin Maffei in 1997 that she found her niche in the fiber world.

Her love of color, nature and the texture of yarns have made Tapestry her ideal medium. She says that “I feel that I am painting with yarn!” She graduated in 2007 Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Fiber Art and a secondary of Sculpture at UAA.
